Cost of diesel across Canada to Alaska

One of my best hauls yet!

Tried to search on here but can't seem to find the towing capacity and payload charts for the newer generation trucks. I found the 2012 capacities but would also like to know how or if they changed between 08 and 12.

I've seen on the Ram truck site that the 2012 trucks in 3500 4x4 crew cab SRW config with short bed have trailer towing up to 13,5k with 3. 73 gears and 16k with 4. 10 gears.

Can that be done as a deadweight set up with a heavy duty type V hitch ex reese titan or other and extra heavy duty draw bar?

Anybody towing a trailer above 10k with a dead weight hitch at these weights? How does the truck perform and how hard is stopping?

Thanks,

Ben

I have the 2011 2500 in my signature and I drawbar tow a 28 ft enclosed trailer that on average weights in at 11k and has been as high as 14k with a total gcvw of right at 25k. I use the 4 way hitch setup now and it does very well but it tough on a srw truck. I'm going to be getting 19. 5 tires and wheels. The tough part from day one with that big of a trailer is trying to balance out how much weight the truck sees. Not? Nought and there's not enough truck to control the trailer and too much it handles like crap. But that was before the 4 way hitch when I was using a normal weight distribution setup. The truck its self with out trailer weight

What is the deal with the 4 way hitch you are talking about?

Dodge's website mentions not towing deadweight with anything over 12K??? Didn't think that was an issue with the appropriate hitch.

I want to trailer a heavy boat and can't use the weight distributing set up.
