Question about Dodge 1500 gas truck

I was wondering if anyone knows any info about a Dodge quad cab 1500 4. 9L automatic. My brother is looking at buying one and I just thought if any Die hard Dodge guys knew any of the good and bad about a 1500 1/2 ton. I am sure any info will be useful. Thanks

I'll bet it's a 4. 7L. 1500s are good light duty trucks . My dad has on with over 400K on it. Changed motor anD transmission at 250k. and this was a repo truck driven by his employees.

Opps I meant 4. 7L. The truck he is looking t is a 05 model Big Horn edition w/ 36K miles. I forgot to mention that. Is the auto transmission problems with Dodge only with the diesel motor trucks?
