Thinking about the Dodgezilla for the 12V

Just ordered new "airdog" Preporator

First let me say "I have no planes for bombing, except for exhaust and maybe air intake"

Having said that, here is my problem. I am convinced an EGT gauge is necessary even on a stock truck if you are towing.

I have the SRT-10 pillar, and, was planing on ordering the Di-Pricol EGT gauge for it. I can get it for $64 less than the Westach Boost/EGT combo.

My question... ... Do I need a boost gauge, and why.

If I need it, I'll spend the extra money.

I guese I don't really understand the purpose of the boost gauge.

An EGT gauge is a good investment if you're going to be towing. Since you have an automatic, the next gauge should probably be a transmission temp gauge. The boost gauge isn't absolutely necessary in your situation, but knowledge is power. It can tell you if you have a possible leak in your system from the turbo to the intake. I have the Westach combo gauge and also a Westach FP guage (2001). They have been installed for over three years and I occasionally tow a 12K 5th wheel. These gauges have been valuable to me to let me know what's going on with the engine. Have fun... :)

If your putting in gauges, might as well do them all now, because there is no such thing as just exhaust and air intake. Especially when your on this stinking TDR, its like a bad addiction. Have fun.

What they said, not important unless your modifying and going with more boost that gets to the point of endangering your headgasket.

As for not modifying... ... . ah come on, you know you want to do it :D

You guys are right.

It's cheaper to do it right the first time.

Called in order today... EGR and Boost (Di-Pricol) for steering column, and transmission Temp for the SRT-10 Pillar.

Thanks for good advice.

Don't forget a vacuum gauge in place of the "FILTER-MINDER", to tell you how restricted the filter is. The spec's on the minder can be had from the service manual.
