I realize people have had problems with them on some models but what about 98's, should I buy a guage and check on occation?

Thanks, Jim

300K (170K on an 89 and 130K on my 96) and no lift pump problems. Don't create or worry about a problem that chances are won't happen to you. Learn to recognize problems that would be the result of a lift pump but chances are you will never have to mess with it.

Good luck.

I agree that it is unlikely to happen to you, but having a gauge to check fuel pressue is still an excellent idea, IMO. I wouldn't be without mine.

Jim,

I have 172K+ miles on mine and only one small problem with the lift pump. It started to leak. That was fixed with a couple of O-rings that cost about a buck and a half for the manual push button.
