Question about # of posts...

Back in Dec. I posted a reply on "steering wheel count" or to that effect. When I posted it it said "posts:521"
The other day I had "posts 516" next to a post I just put up.
Not that it really matters, but how come two months later I have less posts??

This is just a guess, but it could be the number of posts decreased due to the moderators deleting old topics that contained some of your replies.

Well, Katdiesel is editing the post counter in the server so everybody else has fewer posts, and he has more. #ad
We all know Kat likes to post about everything, abd he has the post count to prove it. He just wants to make sure nobody else will even come close. #ad

I don't know why either - I've never paid much attention to them. Andy's thought is possible. We do mass deletions when the threads are extremely old after we move the good threads into the archives. However, I don't think we've done any mass deletions since december.

<font color=blue>Its hard to say, even with the "mass" deletions I don't recall my post count ever dropping to be honest.

One thought that comes to mind, back when the server was moved did you post alot that couple of days? I know there were several posts "lost" in that time frame and possibly it could be thats what happened to your post count?

Actually, KAT takes from us and adds to his each day (he "fixed" the counter).

When you post 2 he "automaticlly" posts 1 and your count goes down 2. Of course this "just" happened since he's be "advanced" to his current level, as a "mod"-r-Ate-r.

If you could get "elevated" to this level, you get into the "special" area and then you would find all your "missing" posts with KAT's name on them < #ad

AND, for some of us, when we post 2 or 3 or more msgs the counter doesn't increase (beccause KAT's getting his # increased). If you check thru some of your posts, you'll see that you may have the same # for different postings in different threads. Kat does it agn to us!!! #ad
