aFe Filter and Amsoil Dual Bypass

Has anyone noticed a difference running the Scotty Air 11. I'm looking to get a better air filter than the one I have (stock housing with K&N air filter). Is there a noticable difference in exhaust temps pulling or not pulling a load? Is it worth the money? Any input would be appreciated.

I never compared my Scotty II to a K&N replacement filter, but I can give you my numbers with a similar setup to yours.

I also have a Comp and straight piped stock exhaust.

65-75 mph = 750-800* EGT with Comp on level 1 or 2

65-75 mph = 850-900* EGT with Comp off

Max EGT's with Comp on 2x5 = 1050*

Max EGT's with Comp on 5x5 = 1250*

I live in Houston, so all these figures are on level ground... mostly. We have no hills. Also, these figures are while running empty. I don't tow much, so I have no input there.

HTH. The Scotty II was worth the money to me, but for you, you'll have to decide...

I have had the stock, K&N, BHAF with baffel and now have the Scotty II each has been an improvement over the others. When I get my twins installed I will make a Scotty II type of intake for the air filter. I also added a 4" hose intake from the front air dam on the drivers side to the bottom of the Scotty.

I was able to pull more air with an aFe filter. You can only pull as much as the two inlets, plus you usually have to cut the engine bay for the top inlet. This allows more noise into the cab. I liked the afe mega cannon the best.
