What exactly is it that Texas Rangers say to people that get 'em where it counts and make them stop doing whatever it is that they're doing?

I'm sure we've all heard stories about how a Texas Ranger steps up to a troublemaker, has a short private conversation with said person, and then all the trouble stops.

Anyone have any ideas? I think I may need to use the same tactic in the not-too-distant future :)

Are you talking about the old stories of the old Rangers, as in the "one fight, one ranger" town riot story? The Rangers of those days were some bad mothers... . They were all 3/4 crazy and careless, and the other 1/4 they was the time they spent sleeping.

Maybe it is the way the message is delivered  as well as the message, that conveys the total intent :-laf

That's the root of my question:) Is it usually something like "Your momma's gonna need more than dental records to ID you when I get through with you if you don't stop," or "You don't really need a Texas Vendetta on your hands right now?"

Anyone?

Texas Ranger

There is a story of a Ranger stopping a guy for speeding, he pulles out his book and begins to write the speeder up. The speeder says "sir, can't you just give me a warning or something?", the officer pulls out his 45 and fires across the hood and says "now you have had your warning" and continues to write the ticket. I guess the moral of the story is if it's a Texas Ranger, he probably means business. bg

Only Tonto would know the answer to that question! Um that right. Or maybe Silver "Big Fella". Oo.
