I know this sounds crazy, but I'm trying to find out what the yellow numbers painted on the sides of the frame and front crossmember are? I restored my truck and didn't think to take a picture of them or write them down. It really doesn't matter, but I think it would look neat with the original numbers back on there. Also they all may be different, from truck to truck, so if you know what they mean, maybe I figure out what mine were from all the original paper work I have. Thanks, Alex

I don't know about our trucks, but when I was restoring my Charger I had looked this up once and the marks whether they're just a slash or actual numbers were to show that the area was inspected. The purpose of the numbers was to identifiy spicifically who did the inspection.

Since I was plaaning on driving the car, not just a trailer queen I didn't go with any further research into the matter. Typically, only the concours level of cars have that kind of detail in the restoration.

If I'm way off someone will chime in.

Can't bring any worthwhile information to this particular topic, I just wanted to say, Alex you have a very sweet ride there! How did you get the aftercooler to fit behind the old style grill, no A/C? Very clean ride.

I can't remember any marks on the frame of my 93, only an upside down "13" plastic tag on the frame above the front right tire. Always see it when I wash the truck.

Dana 70 410

Got a used posi 410 developed a noise, I think bearings at about 210k miles . Best assumption would be needs a rebuild. I had a Dana 80 avail. cheap so just did the swap. This is a complete axle w/drums, 3 inch brakes, no springs or shocks. Located in Idaho. Let me know if this could help. RC

I've been waiting for someone to notice. I had to cut the headlight area out of an 86-90 style core support, and graft it into the 93. The 91-93 headlights are about an inch higher than the older style. This will allow most of the parts to bolt up, but you have to cut an inch off of the back of the grille to clear the A/C condenser. The biggest hurdle is the filler piece between the grille and bumper. I had to use a combination of the upper part of the 87, lower part of the 93, and then weld all 5 pieces back together.

Thanks for the compliments, its been nice being able to do all the work myself. I wish someone would look at their truck and post what they find. I can copy my 89 cab chassis, but I figured I have access to a bunch of 93 owners, so I should be able to get the right numbers. Thanks, Alex

I'll take a look this weekend sometime. The last two days have been leave at 7-8am, and not get home until after 9-10pm. Hopefully tomorrow will be shorter. Dunno if mine will still be there, as my truck has wintered in Illinios a few times, and the frame is getting rather rusty.
