I'll try to be brief... 2004. 5 48RE at 184,000 I lost 1st gear, I decided to rebuild using a TDR advertiser as source. Advertiser
will remain unnamed. Parts source and actual rebuilder are seperate, but well known to each other to help achieve quality
control.
Rebuild was completed Aug 1,2012. I put almost 3K miles on truck, no problems. About the last week of Aug I was driving
about 50 mph when ATF overtemp warning light flashed on/off several times, at the same time trans kept trying to downshift,
(Limp mode ??) I took it back to Rebuilder, he replaced a Soleniod, not sure which one, but I sure it's the one that controls
the warning light. They called it a combination solenoid.
After getting my truck back, this same problem as noted above, happens again, only this time I also lose First gear, along
with the overtemp warning light flashing and the downshifting.
Rebuilder has scanned the trans and cannot nail down a reason for all of this activity.
Cerb, I've read a lot of your posts... I'm seeking your input... what say you about this problem ??
