Any mpg increase with DTT , vb & tc ?

In relation to (Help no power). I also felt the truck should have more snoose. I am unable to go check on the hose clamps as I am alone with the kid today and it is 10 degrees here. Have you ever seen the air cooler cracked on a new rig? I found a bad air to air on our semi hooked to a 3406. That and the gauges I have looked for a place to put a boost gauge line into the engine and did not see a plug to turn out. My other problem is not wanting stuff on my dash. Any hiden places to stick them inside the truck? and not look like hell??

Whenever you get the latest edition of the TDR mag, there will be ads in there for gage mounts that go on the A pillar (that vertical piece of plastic to the left of the windshield that connects the dash to the headliner). They are very stock looking and do not make anything look cluttered or gawdy... in fact looks stock. Another good spot is that cubby hole beside the radio.

I ended up removing that air horn (aluminum piece) that sits on the top drivers side and goes into the head. I just drilled and tapped it out and ran my line inside the cab to the gage. There is a plug behind the fuel filter on the block (big 3/4 or 1" plug I think) that plumbs into the intake system and woul allow a boost reading.

You should be seeing about 19 psi boost with your foot in it hard. The fuel psi before it enters the injection pump should be at least 7 psi and no less than 5 going down the road. If you start consistantly seeing less psi, its a good clue that the lift pump is taking a dump on you. Hope this helps.

Remove the aluminum peice? I am not totally sure what it looks like yet but I will take a look. As long as a guy and remove it without stripping the engine down. I don't think I want to get into to big of a mess with a truck with 2000 miles. Perhaps tommorrow I will get a better look at it and see what you mean. I guess now that you mention it about the pilar I remember somebody saying something about that. My only problem would be the tweeter.

They got them with tweeters that replace your old unit.

The aluminum intake horn has the oil dipstick on it... you'll see it. If you do take it off, unhook the batteries because there is an electric grid heater under the horn you dont want to short it out. Take the 4 bolts out that hold it to the head. Unhook the dipstick. Loosen the hose clamp on the other end and off it comes. Drill and tap your hole, reassemble it.

Its scary turning wrenches on a new truck that cost this much, but the gage part of it is 100% necesary, primarily the fuel gage due to the lift pumps being a weak link for us.
