We have installed several PacBrakes on trucks with auto's but they require a kit to modify the transmission... . The kit will hold the fluid pressure up in the torque converter while the truck slows down... . this lock up... will than allow the engine to accept the retarding HP when the exhaust brake is on... without this kit... the fluid pressure in the torque converter would fall... . thus allowing the torque converter to slip... . this slippage would add some heat to the oil... . but would pass very little of the energy from the driveline to the engine.....
If you have an interest in either the pacbrake or the kit just email me...
Hope this information has helped...
