Any Good "Machine Runaway" tales?

I am having a memery fart. What is the name of the resturant in Anchorage. It is a three storie building but only two floors are being used. The third story was a brothel long time ago. It is by Lake Hood.

I should remember this place, I ate there alot. I lived up there for a couple of years and still own a place by Westchester lagoon.

Thanks

Are you talking about "Qwinnies" there in Spenard?

If it is, It's still there and serves kick butt meals. If you leave hungery, it's your fault.

Thats it

Qwinnies, The best food ever. And one serving is large enough for some small countries. I love their breakfest with Raindeer sauage.

It is too bad all the Californians are moving up. You can always tell who is from Ca. They are the ones that use tire chains in the winter and can't drive unless they can see the white lines in the road. But Alaskans hate where I am from even more. So I don't say that I was born a Texan. They ain't to happy about all the Texans that came up with the pipeline and than left with all the money. I lived in Lost Wages, Nv. for ten years before Alaska, so I just claimed to be from there.

I sure miss it up there. But with school and work I am stuck in Oregon. :{

Not so much as people from California moving up, just the attitude of a big city. Not that Anchorage is big, only about 300,00, but has that attitude of a large city. It's a shame.

That's a new one for me Warren. I've always heard Anchorage refered to as North Seattle. Hard to believe that Anchorage has almost twice as many people as any city in Montana.

Welcome to Los Anchorage. Please feel free to spend you money at the nearest t-shirt shop and then get back on the cuiuse ship.

I was born, raised and still live in Anchorage. It may be full of big city attitudes but I defiy you to find another city of the same size that has the outdoor possiblilities of Anchorage. Where else in the world can you catch king salmon inside the city limits? How about city parks that have bears and moose?? It may not be perfect but at least its not Fairbanks... (sorry WDaniels but Fbnks is just too darn cold in the winter).

JR2, did you get that right!! I transplanted into Fairbanks from Anchor town and it was nice to have the small town attitude that Anchorage used to have. I too was born and raised in Los Anchorage. After this spring and how cold and wet it was, I'm calling it quits after I retire. Got 7 years to go and I'm history. Gonna snow bird.
