Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Question for the stack boys

I want a single stack so bad I can taste it I am debating to bring it up straight in the middle or off to the passinger side. Here is my question, if I do bring it up on the passinger side than how do I get the exhaust on the outside of the frame so I can go up???

I don't know what size pipe you are using, but there is quite a bit of room between the frame and the bed. If you 90* up, from the stock location, then 90* to the right over the frame, then 90* back up throught the bed, I'm, sure it would work. Or you can go underneath the frame, but that looks sorta cheesy.

Kevin,, don't tell anybody but that's Rob's truck again,, just with the bed down and doors closed.



What I think is the most popular way to do stacks is to come up from where the stock pipe is and go through th bed then do a 90* turn in the bed run pipe over to the side of the bed then do another 90* turn into your stack. Mount the stack to the side of your bed.



It's much harder to go under the frame than into the bed.



To go into the bed you need 3 90* turns and a little pipe. (Even flex pipe)



I went outside the bed. Rob could probably comment on that Too To go on the OUTSIDE of the bed it takes alot of 90*'s and all kinds off 10*- 45* bends in the pipes.

(Atleast 4 90* bends per side)

Kevin it's hard to go around the frame over or under :{

Most stacks are done in the bed and if you only want one stack change the Y to a 90

Yep, thats my truck in your post above, but the way mine are done won't help you any. I do know of one person that has thier stack set-up over the frame and to the corners of the bed, on both sides. There's room, just not very much.

Many years ago, I saw a tricked out Ford 4x4 with a Detroit in it. He just ran the stack thru the hood!! Had about 18" of 4" chrome stack stuck thru the hood with a chrome flapper cap on it. Talk about no back pressure!!

Merrick has the absoulte most awesome stacks I have ever seen a pic. of, they scream TEXAS



I only have a single stack, 5" to 6", through the bed. It's probably the easiest way to go, unless you are concerned with bed space.
