Beer Emergency

My friend has Borg Warner Super T-10 in a Camaro. We are trying to find a yoke to fit it. He has one from a TH400 that slips in about halfway and then gets stuck. Nobody he has talked to can tell him if the yokes for the two trannys are interchangeable. One driveshaft shop told him they have one that MIGHT work for 120 bucks. Too much to spend if they aren't sure. So, either the two are interchangeable and we have a bad output shaft on the transmission or the BW T-10 has it's own yoke different from the TH400. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

I researched this a little for you and found some links. I don't know these people so I can't vouch for there knowledge.

On this URL I found this

I know there are parts books with numbers on line, (I just finished a M21 for my Brother) You spend enough time you could find the GM number for the ST-10 yoke and a THM400 yoke, see if they match. Or look in a hot rod book for a trans builder, and call him.

Hope this helps, GM made dam good stuff, until the mid 70's!

I put a Super T-10 in my '69 Camaro and had to buy a yolk. I think that the yolks are interchangable except that the T400 might be set up for bolting to the output shaft (truck application). If it wasn't a truck application, it should work. (If I recall correctly!)

M20 or M21. The M20 had a wider gear ratio then the 21.

I don't think they were still making M22's by 68, but they have the same ratio as the M21, only the gears are cut different to allow shifting without the clutch for Road Race Applications. (really not the hot setup for drag racing)
