Fueling While Running

I am running the Edge EZ box and want to pump up the HP more. I am thinking of two options:

-Stay with the Edge and do injectors (+100HP more)

-Get the new Edge Juice box a gain of 50-60 more HP.

Do these numbers sound right and any big drawbacks to new injectors-MPG, etc?

Thanks

I'm no expert, but I think Joe's right. It seems to me that although the 3rd gen engines got some improvements (stock power levels and better fuel system), we also took at least one step backwards and that is the utilization of the HY35 on the ETH's. I for one would be happier if they kept using the HX35 on the ETH's, but I assume that the quicker spool up of the HY-35 was an emmissions necessity. A second gen ETH, had 60 less horsepower and a bigger turbo and I think that is why the 3rd gen ETH's seem to suffer more from high EGT's. Basically the turbo and the engine output are now much more closely matched. This is OK if you're staying stock, but its put a bit of an obstacle in the way when bombing... , EGT's.

I've been thinking about it, and my "modification schedule" is going to be:

- gauges - EGT, boost & fuel pressure

- better intake system, AFE?

- bigger turbo like DD's HX-40 c/w full 4" exh.

- fuel pressure improvements

- then a box and/or injector's

It may take me a while to get this stuff all done though! :)

Since no one has dyno'ed at over 500 hp with the 3rd gen I believe we are going to have to solve the common rail fuel delivery problem before we see big numbers with driveability. With the TST box out now you can see from the posts with bigger injectors the engine needs more fuel and is not getting it. This engine has the ability to be the hp king but we still have a lot of testing to do.

Bill, with bigger injectors why wouldn't the engine be getting more fuel? I thought that is the point of bigger injectors? Or are you saying the fuel pump won't provide it?

Also, I'll talk to my diesel shop about the bigger turbo. I don't want to do just injectors if there are other things that need to accompany them.

For 450-500hp, do you guys feel 4" or 5" is the way to go?
