There's several stages of the snow performance products out there. I'm wondering which one I should go with. I haven't dyno'd my rig but here's everything that's been done to it

Schwitzer 62/14 turbo

ATS arc flow intake elbow

timing at 15. 3*

370 marine injectors

60# exhaust springs

ATS 3 piece exhaust manifold

4" exhaust with Pac brake

ATS auto, T/C, and controller

4. 11 gears.

Soon to be mods

Ported "O" ringed head

better cam for towing/hauling

FASS fuel pump w/ filters

More timing???????

Mega Cannon Stage 2 air filter system

3GSK????????

I can currently blow the boost gauge off the 35 psi scale I'm guessing around 40+. I'll be moving up to the 60 psi gauge to know for sure.

If you have a comparible setup and know your h. p. and torque, I'd like to know what yours is.

I use the truck to pull my rv. I have a new 39' 5th wheel toy hauler that's going to dress out around 23K#s and some of those mountain/hilly roads require a killer rig. It's either build the crap outta my 98 12 valve or buy a Ford with 4. 30 gears. I don't believe that D/C has that opinion (do they?)

Sounds like we might be close to the same mods. I also am thinking of h20 injection for towing the fiver. You can see the power level I am at and it needs to be driven with the eye on the pyro going over the hill to the coast or it can get hot. But it still leaves the ford and chevy guys behind going up the grades. :-laf

If you need to replace a gauge anyway, check out the Snow Stage III controller. I have the coolingmist.com controller and love it! With either unit you can choose alternative inputs, boost hose, MAF, TPS, EGTs, etc. Coolingmist has free software you can download to reprogram the 2D tuning any way you want. Best thing about Snow is the lifetime warranty. Controllers are variable and you can add nozzles as you need them. Just choose your favorite controller and start with one nozzle at a time, add as you need more.

Thanks for reply guys. RSA sounds like we do have about the same hardware, except I swapped out my 3. 54s for someone else's 4. 10s. Not too fast above 70 mph but it'll stay in o. d. much longer than before. After I found three intake leaks I can spin my 12 valver all day long at 3K (Red line). Is there a reason why I'd want to go to the 3gsk? Before I found the three leaks I could barely get 25 psi out of it and the egts were always up around 1300+* Now on wot the boost gauge is gone and the egts stay around 1300 max. Much improved. I read with much interest what "MR" MMcCallie had to say. I just need to understand it some more. What I really thought was interesting is his 2000 Excursion with a 5. 9 CTD in it. That's just super!! I plan on getting together with Pier's as they have helped me in the past, they're the ones who clued me in on how to find the air leaks in a noisy 12 Valver. I'm sure they'll like the order I place with them.

I posted a thread in the towing, hauling Rv section of this tdr titled "Why can my buddies Furd eat my Dodge's lunch". As you can guess there was lots of talk about it.

Another friend of mine asked me the other day "how do you know so much about diesels?" I told him I was still learning and that most of the information comes from much smarter people on this site. Thanks again.

By the way RSA I too have no EGR!!! My rig came from Canada where the headlights stay on and no EGR valves.

MMc, tell me more about the statement "If you need to replace the gauge anyway, check out the Snow Stage III controller". I don't understand what the gauge replacement has to do with the controller. What is coolingmist.com? Is that a web site that I should look at for the Snow products? I'll go to the web and see if anything comes up with that address.

By the way I think your 2000 with a 5. 9 CTD in it is a super great idea. I'll bet it has a lot of Furds scratching their heads.

MMc, I just looked at the coolingmist.com website and I don't see a Stage III or a lift time warranty. I only saw one that mentioned a 1 year warranty. Can you provide more info?
