When drag dracing (in my 3rd gen{i didnt post this is the comp forum because maybe its different}) Should i leave the o/d off or leave it on?

Nick

I wondered about the same thing. . my buddy has a d-max and it makes a difference on his. I tried what Klockliear told me and that seems to work pretty good. By starting out in 4HI he said, "You'll get off the line way quicker. I used to spool it up to about 15psi before I left in 4HI, then shift to 2HI after the 1-2 shift of the trans. " It's nice cause I don't roast my tires every time somebody wants to race.

See thats exactly what i am thinking. . It seems my truck starts to run out of breathe with o/d off at around 70 mph so after that i guess i need to kick in the o/d. (oh i have 315's on i see you do to) Ive been told when i get my 500 rwhp that my set-up 4. 10's with the 35's will be a perfect set-up. . ??

I would leave the line with it OFF. And then before you hit redline pop the OD. Otherwise it will most likely shift into OD before you want it to.
