Answer ALL you Turbo Questions

Good Morning,

New member here with a 2004. 5 2500 "600" CTD on order. Many thanks to everyone here for the great information and advice.

Here's my question. . Can someone verify the vehicle height of a 2004. 5 2500 SLT quadcab long bed for me? I've been going by Dodge's website specification of 78. 9inches (6 feet 7 inches) which will "comfortably" fit in my garage with a few inches to spare.

After seeing a 2500 and 1500 side-by-side at the dealer this weekend, I noticed there was a considerable height difference. Dodge lists the 1500's height as 74. 4 inches (6 feet 2 inches) but it looked like more than a 5 inch difference to me.

Also, can anyone tell me if the optional 17inch cast aluminum wheels add to the vehicle as opposed to the stock chrome clad 17's?

Thanks,

-Josh-

Yeah, I though of that, but the nearest dealer is 15 miles away and the dealer I bought from is closer to 25. . I think if I took it for that long of a test drive they'd have the police waiting for me when I returned :)

My 03 2500 QC SB fits in my garage, just barely though make sure to adjust the door so that it is all the way up. .

JoshuaClark, a friend of mine was shopping for his 2003 HO. The dealer said that if he drove the Hemi long enough, he'd like that more than the Cummins. So... he took the Hemi for a 160 mile test drive. When he returned, a very relieved salesman asked where the heck he went, and how many mile he stacked on the thing. My friend explained that he was just doing what the salesman had suggested, and would have driven it more, but was getting bored with the Hemi. He bought the Cummins instead! And the best part was that the Hemi he took out for the long test drive had already been sold the day before, so the owner got his new truck after a 160 mile beating. :)

So anyway, point is, take the truck home and see if it fits. I'd do it even if the salesman was in the back seat. He wants you to buy it, doesn't he? He'll deal with it. If not, find a dealer and salesman who WILL meet your needs. Always know that you can walk out that door at any time.

That would pi$$ me off to no end. In fact, it would have killed the deal. I'm not slamming your friend, I'm slamming the salesman that let him do it.

Yeah, my friend didn't know the truck was sold until he got back from the test drive. He did ask the salesman, "then why'd you let me drive it?!?"
