Question On Factory Goose Neck Set Up

Hello all, I have a question on the 2018 long bed factory goose neck position in reference to the rear axle. Is it centered over the axle or just forward on it? Just asking haven't taken the time yet to remove the rear spare tire and heat shield to do some measuring.

Thanks that's what I was thinking. I will investigate it more once it warms up a little. Right now I tow with a B&W 5th wheel companion set one inch in front of kingpin post. And it tows just fine.

What got this all started my brother just bought a 2011 and it has the B&W goose neck aftermarket that sits on top of the frame. It is 6" forward of center axle. Yes I realize its good to hock up while your tailgate is down.

I had the B&W gooseneck hitch on my 11 DRW and I guarantee you it was not 6” ahead of center of rear axle.

Looking at the B&W install sheet and the specs posted by Ram it should be 5.6” forward of the axle center.

Yep not 6" but close. It was put in per B&W instructions at 47 1/2" from end of bed to center of the pin. I measured it yesterday.
