tires/rims
yup, tires stick out... . check out my pix.
The wheels are 16x10 with 305's (33's). Still the setup looks pretty tough (no rubbing at all). Leveling the truck and changing from the 245's made the truck look entirely different. I opted for the D range tires (BFG muds) for the look and also for the snow/mud traction. The only load I pull is an inboard water ski boat (~200# tongue weight). BTW, the ride improved 100% going to this setup !!!
The tire/rim combo works great (doesnt have that balloon look). I'd guess that the 285's would look pretty weird as they are over an inch narrower than the 305's (also most likely will do damage to your wheels if you ever find the curbs or take it off road... ). One thing, I'll probably need to get some flaps to keep the rocks off the boat this summer (those open lugs love to pick up pebbles and throw them at highway speeds... )
Not sure about wear or longevity (only have 7k miles on this setup... ) but I'd expect about 25k out of the tireset...
Rgds,
