Stupid question

Anti theft measures?

Hoping someone could answer a few questions.

1. Any body know what a first gen rearend srw weighs with the drums on?

2. What is the width difference between a srw and a drw?

3. On second gen 01. 5 & 02 trucks, what does a disk braked Dana 80 srw weigh?

4. What is the width from center to center of the spring perches and the distance from axle flange to axle flange?

Thanks

Kurt

Standard DRW axle is like an inch longer or so. If you get the cab and chassis DRW it is actually shorter than the both the SRW and the DRW.

On a first gen the dually axle is the widest axle made. It is around 10" to 12"'s wider than your axle.

A C&C axle is 6" wider than your axle.

A model 70 probably goes around 300 lbs drum to drum. It is all two people can do to pick one up and move it around.

I can't help on #3.

I measured the center to center on a 2000 C&C model 80 axle a few years ago. It had the same center to center on the spring mounts as my truck.

Are you talking spring perch width or axle width?? I have seen all three. The spring perch distance from center is the same with all 3 (SRW, DRW, and Cab/Chassis DRW) but the axle lengths are different.

Just had my Dana 70 rebuilt w/everthing new including new clutches in the posi. ($1400). I am thinking a Dana 80 srw might go right in and I could have disk brakes too. If axle flange to axle flange is about 4" wider than what I have it would be perfect with my 02 rims.

Still wondering about the wieght difference.
