First, what kind of Inj. Pump is on the '91's? Is it a P7100? Also, can an intercooler from a '01 be put on the '91, and would it be of any benefit?

Thanks, Ron

I don't think the old 91 model year trucks have the P-7100... ..... To the best of my knowledge, they use some kind of rotary pump unit. Bosch.

The IC could be fabricated into the truck but would take some work. The cooler air would most definately aid in cooler running EGT. Not important untill you begin to pour the fuel in and pull heavy loads.

GL,

My 91 has the Bosch VE pump on it. It looks kind of like a distributor... if you imagine the fuel lines being spark plug wires... . you do remember what spark plug wires are don't you?

My truck is not intercooled, and I have not run into any egt problems (other than being low :-laf ), but my truck rarely hauls much and I don't tow. as far as power, I would say mine has "modest" power as my signature would indicate. :-laf

My suggestion would be to install a pyrometer and let your EGT tell you whether or not an intercooler is needed based on how you use your truck and how much fuerl you plan on pouring into the engine.

Have fun with it.

alot of work

the 91 IC will be alot of work. cutting and welding will be a must. the 91 looks wider thiker and inlet/outlet look to be a problem. Will be a fun proj. I bet a 91. 5 through 93 IC will almost bolt up.
