Questions on 04 trucks

Well, we ended up doing the deed. The wife and traded our 2nd gens in for 3rd gens.

We both ended up getting 04 2500 auto, shortbed 4x's.

Here are some questions that her and I were both pondering. Even though this is a new fueling system (reffering to the common rail system), can we still utilized the Amalgamated additive, or is this new system not too friendly with additives?

Also, the only real difference between the wifes truck and mine is that I have the auto dimming rear view mirror and she wants one, but the dealer did not have any on the lot. If we were to go and purchased this mirror seperately from the dealer, is the wiring for the mirror already existing, or is it a pretty tough install?

Lastly, do you guys know of any known issues with these trucks that I should be aware of? I have been reading through the 3rd gen forums for a while and it seems that the only real known issues seem to be with the 600. Thoughts?

Thanks

Kev

K_Arts,

if you end up getting a new mirror for your wife's truck, would you be interested in selling the original. I personally don't like my auto dimming mirror.

thanks

heck, if I can find out about the wiring for that mirror, I'd be willing to give away the stock mirror. I hate that thing.

Does anybody know anything about the wiring for the auto dimming mirror?

Come on now... didn't you know that using common sense is against the rule of mankind? :D :D LMAO

The key question is, how do I get that overhead console out so that I can see if the wiring is there?
