What is a Pyrometer and what does it do?? are auto meter gauges a brand to buy?

Hoss, a pyrometer measures the exhuast gas temperature. It will tell you how the engine is running on an everyday basis and will allow you to monitor temperatures when towing heavy or hotrodding and keep the temperatures at a safe level. Quite a few guys on here have Autometer brand guages and like them.
