Quick Alternator Question

Morning all,

I have a 1993 D250, standard cab, auto trans. I would like to know what is the current rating (in Amps) of the factory installed alternator. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Just remember that 120 is the maximum and is rated at some operating rpm (of the alternator).

You may not even be able approach that number with a low revving diesel so you need to consider that aspect.

You can probably find a rpm/output chart online if you put some time into looking.

I think I will be fine as long at she is warm and we are moving down the highway.

Yes moving on the highway no problem. I wouldn't bank on it at an idle though.
