U'm hooking up my comp, and the directions leave a little to be desired... I assume the gray wire on the harness is for the pump tap, and the black is a graound? It really doesn't specify. Also I have an 02, and if I'm reading it right I don't have to use the boost elbow? ALSO... I can't find the data link connection... once again the manual really dosen't specify for an 02. I looked all over around the MAP plug and also by the PS pump... .

Yes black is ground. Might want to run it to the battery to avoid future issues. On mine the data plug was in the harness going down at the vacuum pump. It was a real pain in the a** to find. Don't know about the elbow for 02.

No elbow for the manual transmission '02 - but there SHOULD be a restrictor for the line between the turbo outlet and the wastegate to permit boost above the usual 22 PSI or so...

OK I think I got it all, but how much should I expect to feel on a bone stock 02 4x4 auto? I'm using the Blue Chip tap, and I checked the allen tap screw for power when I installed it. I thought it would be more impressive... I'll go back and re-check my connections, just wondering how much a bone stock truck should expect...

The word use to be to not tap the pump until your auto trans was beefed up. The fueling box will act like the Edge EZ without the tap. I did tap mine and actually tried the highest setting of 5X5:eek:. The trans held it that time and I did not try again. The auto started giving up due to other circumstances after that and the DTT bill came soon after. The moral is, if you have the box and the pump is tapped the temptation will probably overcome the wallet.

The trans is comming out tomorrow for the full billet DTT (and more :) ) that's why I waited till today to hook up the comp. Triple checked every thing all is good, as for tapping the correct wire the Blue Chip cover can only tap one..... It makes a difference I just thought 120HP would feel like more. Perhaps after this week with my new turbo/injectors/exhaust/FASS/DTT that are going in I will feel more of a difference with the Comp on... .

Your post, nor your sig indicates any specific info as to the truck you have the Comp installed on, or other mods, but indicate an auto transmission, so that indicates a SO - and there IS a performance difference between installations on a SO or HO truck. What maximum boost are you seeing? - I got about 32 PSI on mine with nothing other than the Comp installed - and there IS a big difference once you get maximum boost with the Comp.

I gained about 80 HP with my HO on a new engine - guys with the SO trucks typically see 25-35 more than that due to VP-44 differences between the 2 trucks - it takes other additional mods on a HO truck to realize the maximum benefit from the Comp. The planned mods you mention above should help the Comp a great deal.

I find sometimes I get "used" to the power I have, just return to stock after on "kill" mode and then you realize how much power you have:eek:

Do a few runs on 5X5 then do a few on 1X1. I find you see the difference more that way.
