Hey guys,

My girlfreind just aquired a Black Lab pup, she (the GF) came up with a rather silly name, I just can't call him (the pup). I know you guys can think up a better name fom him. He's six weeks old, black, with a white strip down his chest, sharp teeth, and seems to be very intellegent given his age. Soooooooooooooo, do you think you guys can help? I'm sure the dog would appreicate it to, he thinks his name is annoying as well, I can see him roll his eyes everytime she calls his name. :D Thanks

I had 3 labs. 2 are dead. First one name was Harley(after the cycle and died of ole age)second was Bo(sister-in-laws husband ran over him broke his back and had to have him put to sleep)third is Sam(the mean one). When I had em all they went through quite a bit of food. Got one left and a cocker spainel. Will get me another some day. I like em. How about something after the Cummins?

We have a female Chocolate Lab, full name "Rockie Mountain Chocolate Lab. " Call her "Rockie. " Maybe "Licorice. "

Hey Rob,

How about Peanut Butter? Or Freak?:-laf :-laf

Seriously, we had a Black Lab/Bassett mix when I was a kid. Her name was Cinder. She was black with the white tummy, too. It was a good fit.

OK,

Dave, Dave, Dave... ... peanut butter & freak are out :D , I like Cinder, however this is a "dude" dog, and won't jive. ;)

I also love the name Shadow, but my friends Flat Coated Retriever allready has that name, so thats out. :(

I don't think he'll be a "Brutus", (small paws):(

Bomber, thats just to close to what the broad named him, (boomer):{

And LeRoy, thats just not gonna' happen!:p

He's not a "doof" either Bill or a "skunk", nice names tho

I am partial to "Rocky" tho, got anymore?

Thanks, Rob

Labs

You do know that some Labs snore. My Rockie snores like a drunken sailor all night. In and out. Finally got use to it, but sometimes... ... #@$%!

Mrs Doc's yellow lab's name is Montana (Monty). We also have a dalmation named Dakota. We met a black lab at Miles City, Montana and his name was Dakota. State names seem like pretty cool names for dogs to me :) How about York? LMAO - or maybe Alabama might be more appropriate? :)

First of all, try to come up with a name that won't make you sound like an idiot when you're in the middle of the back yard at night calling him to come in. :D :-laf

Names with "O" sounds carry pretty well over distances.

My Min Pin's name is Obi-Wan. (couldn't get the Wifey to go for Yoda. ) When I holler "OBI" at night the sound carrys.
