I just got one of the replacment/quick drain type oil plugs from Geno's. I got the one that uses the tube that is screwed into the fitting to let the oil out (not the one with the little lever).

The plug came with a copper crush washer on it to seal to the pan. Should I use this washer or just use a stock washer ( I have two in my tool box). I'm thinking a stock washer would seal better.

Thank in advance,

J-

I used the washer that came with the device, figuring if I went this way, why not follow with what the manufacturer furnishes!

And followed what 'John' on NWB also recommended using Blue Loctite to make sure that it does not back out without excessive tightening, warping the pan. (He always seemed to go the extra step in doing it right :D ). Haven't had a problem in 2 years!

if you are talking about the femco drain kit. which I used to sell the copper washer that comes with it should work fine. just keep some oil on the o-rings on the cap and the drain tube to keep them from drying out.
