I had a '01 5-speed 4:10's and at 2000 rpms i was running pretty close to 60mph. I had stock size tires also. As far as 3000rpm i never noticed how fast i was going.

don't mean to hijack thread, but is there a way to tell what gears you have by the VIN. If not, how do you know? (no, i'm not interested in taking something apart... )

At 60 mph I'm a little over 2000 rpms. I have never got my truck up to 3000 rpms, it defuels before that. Fastest my truck ever went was 85 or 87 at about 2850 or 2900 rpms ... and at that speed your hanging on for dear life (at least in my truck you are when driving that fast).

Fastest crusing speed for me is 75 mph at about 2500-2550 rpms.
