I'm servicing my truck (2006 2500) right now and pulled the fuel filter out. Went to get one from my box from Genos, and it's slightly different, the end with the hole in it is a smaller diameter than the one I pulled out (2nd change, 20k miles) and the only way the new one will go in is to put the closed end into the "teeth" to hold it up, then install it, the open end is on the bottom now. I can't frigging remember what position the old one was in, I got "CRS" :-laf Is that a problem?? or am I just freaking out over nothing? Still runs fine, just curious... ... ... .

I am not sure I completely understand your question... ( I am in Hemet by the way so feel free to call if you need help over the phone) (951-926-4553). I use the Genos filters too. All you do is take the old filter off and clip the new one on to the lid. Mine is always a bit loose, but the teeth hold it on there. The open end is at the bottom and you just push the filter down onto the stand and hand tighten the lid making sure you don't cross thread it... Feel free to call if you need help. MONTY

I reread your post, your doing it just fine, I have always put the NEW filter on the lid first with O-ring and lubed it up then pushed it back down in the canister. Hope that helps!
