Quiet Exhaust???

Who makes a quiet exhaust system that runs a lot better than stock on a CR 600. I want to keep the truck quiet, add an Edge EZ, a Progaurd 7 air filter, and guages. What are good options?

My buddies HO has a Flowmaster muffler on it and it is super quiet. You don't hear at all cruising around town, or on take off. Outside of the rig it sounds a little throaty. Basically, it has just enough growl to it, to know it's not STOCK!

If you want quiet its hard to beat the stock system IMO. I don't think an EZ warrants an exhaust system. Its my understanding that the 600 is a true 4" all the way with no neck down points like the early 03/04 3rd gens.



I run a true 4" system with a Donaldson M090544. Its more loud than stock but still pretty mellow with good flow numbers.

If you don't want anymore noise at all making changes to what you have might be opening a can of worms.

Thanks for the advice! What will happen if I get rid of the stock resonator/catalytic or whatever it is? Will that make the truck louder? I know that Geno's sells a resonator eliminator kit that is just a straight piece of pipe, but I don't know how much it will affect the noise inside the cab.

I wanted to do the same thing on my 01. 5. I just gutted the stock muffler. It made a DEFINITE difference in throttle response and fuel economy. I really do not think it is any louder than stock. There are certain conditions where I notice a different tone, but not any louder. There is NO drone at any speed or load.
