Competition Who's going to Tulare from out of Cali

Competition 180 pump mods and injectors

I plan on pulling my truck this year and have some general questions. First, should I pull in 4 high or low? The gears are 3. 54. Second, is there a better tire to use or look for. I know it will depend on the track condition. Just wondering if there is a good all around tire to use.

Watched the sport for many years and decided to give it a try. Any advice would be appreciated.

Also does anyone know of pulls in the central michigan area? Have been to the pull in Remus, MI just looking for others.

BFG All Terrains are hard to beat on just about any track (especially a hard dry track). They get excellent traction when aired right and at the end of the track they will allow you to spin out rather than digging into the track and having driveline problems... I pulled last year with them and loved them.

I've got a set of Cooper Discoverer STT's that I'm planing on using this season with my new SBC Dual Disk.

I ran pretty good last year on some Bridgestone Dueler Revo's

I pull with 315/75R16 Pro Comp Xtreme ATs. I run about 40psi up front and about 50psi in the rear. Haven't really tried anything else. Did pretty good with that setup.

I always run alot of psi in the rear like 55psi and i run 20 -25 pis in my front tires. If you drive to the pulls then you will need to pump up the front for the trip home.

Alot of it depends where your at. Hard pack clay tracks like an AT or a worn out mud tire. Mud tracks you need big grooves to keep the mud from getting packed in the tire. 4 low is right, if you have a smaller charger 64mm and down you can probably hit 3rd with the 3. 54s with a lighter sled. Around here with 3. 54's most guys are hitting 4000-4500 going down the track but staying in second. If your convertor is loose enough you can hit 3rd locked then unlock the convertor at the end, to keep you on the charger. Once again tell us where your at. If your sig is current, around here you shouldn't expect too much. Most 24V have a 150hp + injector, most probably 200hp and a minimum 62mm.

I think the truxus STS do well in the loose stuff. Several have said they are the BFG AT replacement. Only issue I have seen is they have crappy life.

2nd Gear, High Range with 4:10 Rears, turning 3,100 RPM'S all the way down the track. . I usually run around 40 - 45 psi in the rear and 18 psi in the left front tire and 28-30 in the right front...
