I was driving next to a friend of mine in his '01 F-350 PSD crew cab 4x4 earlier tonight, and we thought it was about time we raced #ad

We knew that from a stop he would beat me pretty bad off the line, mine being a 5spd and his an auto, so we decided to go from a roll. We slowed to about 40mph, I was in 4th gear, and we both powerbraked some to build boost, and then we were off! I immediately pulled away, got about 1. 5 truck-lengths out in front of him, and then by about 80mph I was done pulling (I think) and we called it quits. So I had about 2 lengths on him.

We tried it again further down, from the same speed (roughly 40mph), but this time he did a bit better. Actually he pulled out a few feet in front for a second, then I reeled him in and went by him (not all that fast though) before I hit 5th. In 5th I didn't pull away much until we ended the race, me having about 1 length on him.

Now in all fairness I have only the extended cab while he has a crew cab, and his front-end-replacement (bumper) weighs more than my brush guard does, so he has some weight on me, and his truck is all stock. So I won both races, but they were close, and he had to have weighed more than I...

We will have to see what happens we I install my #11 plate tomorrow #ad

The Cummins is quite a bit heavier than the PSD if I am not mistaken?? Plus the dodge is built better. My nieghbor has a 2000 PSD and told me it only wieghs 4700lbs lol. That was just after he explained to me that ford bought cummings(doesn't even know the name) and thats why GM built the duramax.

For fun checked out the Ford Diesel forum, seems their trucks are fairly comparable in weight to ours. Check it out: http://forums. ford-diesel.com/ubb/Forum13/HTML/000408.html

WKener,

If you've got the 215hp, sliding the plate from center to full forward is good for around 60hp, according to TST. Seems to be confirmed on the TDR. The #11 centered is 280hp. If you're starting with 215hp, you're already pretty close. Full forward has shown 340hp with exhaust mods & the stock turbo. EGT gets up there on longer wide open pulls, especially loaded. The clutch will slip, especially if you're in the boost while letting the clutch out. #ad

When I had the #11, I put it in centered 1st, test drove & immediately moved it full forward. Yeeeha. #ad
The front end gets light, the back squats down & gets squirrely. Oh, be careful passing. When you're in 5th & you floor it, you'll come up on the rear bumper LOTS faster. #ad

Something wrong with me, my wife has all the fun.

Was riding with my brother-inlaw in his 2000 PSD 4X4 3500 6-speed srw 4 door and my wife met us on the road and turned around to talk to us. She was driving MY #ad
truck and we were on a country gravel road. Anyways after she was done yakkin, we took off. We were going about 25 - 30 mph side by side when my inlaw dropped a gear and pinned his PSD. He pulled ahead by about 3/4 of a truck length and then I look over and what do I see but my CRAZY wife blowin past us! She didn't know he was going to race she told me later, that is why he got such a jump on her. I kid you not, I had my fist hanging out the window shaking it at my wife to slow down, but secretly I loved it! Brother in law grumbled a bit, and I just muttered that my wife is a phsyco driver. Not a great feat beating a stock PSD but still made me happy! #ad

Welp, I got the #11 plate/guages in last night, keeping the plate centered, and then we went out and raced again. I was really timid about my clutch holding, so on our first race I only went to about 3/4 throttle. He powerbraked at 40mph, I didn't even bother #ad
. Even at about 3/4 throttle I just left him behind, it wasn't even close #ad

BTW, my clutch is holding fine, it doesn't even feel like it is going to slip (famous last words right?), egt's stay around 1050 or so WOT, and I am already longing for more #ad
