Competition auto-needing wheel speed

Competition mojo wins bishop pull

If you guys happen to run into an Evolution and want to play with it. You might waant to think twice. Then after thinking twice you can proceed to stomp his butt.

Now before I get called a liar, let me give you the short story.

We were at some "arranged" late night races and the Evo and myself happened to get a few bets placed on us. The deal was for Me VS the Evo. So the driver elected to let his more experienced friend drive. We were to go from a 30mph roll and go on the flagman's que. The Evo had a quarter tank of fuel and one passenger(the owner). I had a FULL factory tank and 15-30 gallons in my auxillary(traction) tank. On the flag I timed it better than him and got a jump. He then pulled even. By the top of third I had pulled a solid 2 1/2 to 3 feet. Three - Four shift he caught up. Middle of fourth I started pulling again. Four - Five shift(which sucks) He pulled back to 5-6feet of even (but I was still leading). When I finally hit fifth(double clutch) I pulled almost the entire lenght of the truck before we shut down(somewhere in the low triple digits).

The chosen driver was okay but not great. I'm sure a better driver would have done better, but, we played by the rules and I won.

Needless to say he was a little :{ and a lot  .

Not to mention his girlfriend whose on the phone right now was kinda :--) she was diggin the dually before the race but after the race she got to check out the DVD and again Mr. Evo was :{ . But I gotta go. I've got someone:)cool: ) waiting for me on the phone.

Location, Location, Location

Jeff, all I can tell you is that its east of Rockwall. How far east I can't say in a public forum. If anybody wants more info pm me or call the number in my sig.

Also out east is only one of many locations. We also have some in and around Dallas. But out east is the best "track" but not neccesarily the best crowd. The "track" is good enough that we have quite a few cars and a few trucks (Lightnings, Nitrous R/Ts etc. ) drive out from Dallas and even Ft. Worth. Of course good side bets don't hurt the racing either. Me and some buddies re-opened the "track" less than a year ago. Only the local racers know where it is. So we don't get huge crowds showing up. Just the people who should be there.

In that link to the motor, it says it's cam gives it a "torque churning power band". At 273 ft/lbs that's pretty good for a 2 liter 4 banger, but come on "torque churning".

The pretty high hp and gobs of torque these motors make will let them run like a scalded dog at speed once the turbo's spinning. Just with the Comp box, I can run with most things on the highway at speed. My favorite is when I see someone acting like Mario Andretti weaving through traffic behind me. When they start coming up beside me I nail it and slow down next to another car. Road rage? Naw, just trying to prevent my new found friend from getting a speeding ticket. :D

Beware of the 2JZ-GTE....

Even a mildly 'warmed over' MKIV Supra would have eaten your truck for breakfast in a similar race..... DO NOT line up against one of these cars - unless you want to loose.

Not knocking your win against the Evo - but don't get cocky with the real-deal ricers.

I'm going to have to get a aBc-123 sticker for my truck. :p

Don't get cocky, just get a Z06. Nothing like all american V8 power (at least for gassers).

Yeah, except the $52k Corvette that Rip Rook whooped up on the other night at the drags. Rip's post on NWBombers

Yeah, probably not the greatest driver, but I'll tell ya what, 90% of the ricers I've ever seen/raced had more money in stickers and body work then in the engine/performance mods. I'm sure a there's a bunch out there that are truly worthy, but from what I've seen, they're few and far between.

Sti vs. Lancer Evo

I used to really be into imports (had an eclipse before broke a rod) and all the reliable magazines matched the evos and the wrx or sti whatever against each other. the lancers usually barely beat the subies. So if your gettin spanked by a subaru then you probably should be gettin spanked by an EVO.

Anyways theres nothin better then diesel and I basically hate ricers now anyhow. So good job on beating that one.
