Raced an 02 Ford dually

My buddy and I stomped on it when the light turned green. He spooled quicker than me and got about a truck length ahead, I pulled back to half a truck length ahead, going through about 75 he started to pull me, he got even and we shut it down due to an approaching red light. I think we actually got to 90MPH, fast enought considering it was a 40MPH zone. I was a bit dissapointed, but realized the 60HP setting on the Smarty is a fair amount slower than the 90 hp setting, which I ran for a while until I'd get the transmission shakes in overdrive on the insterstate when accelerating. I'm sure if I had it on 90hp, I would have pulled him the whole way.



Interesting run and demo of the two, all in all the Cummins did better than on the surface,



You can see on my signature, I've got 35" tires, 4. 10 gears, and the Smarty was only on Level 3 w/mild tqe management (60HP). Scott had the Edge Juice on his 7. 3, don't know what level he was on, but he has smaller tires, he had 4. 10 gears also. I have 500 lbs of sand in the back and a passenger, he was solo. I imagine he was running about 90 hp with the Edge, but should have had less power due to an older year. WE both had intakes and exhaust. The one issue I have with the Smarty is it's slow of the line in the first few seconds.



Is anyone running their Smarty on moderate tqe management? Does it improve off line grunt and quicker spool?

Funny, with Smarty on sw1 and tst 0/0 my truck feels quicker and faster off the line than no smarty and tst 3/3.

Try building some boost next time holding the accelerator and brake at the same time and it should take a lot of the turbo lag out of it.
