Competition Racing a Duramax

Got a kid running his mouth here locally that he would spank me with his bone stock Duramax. How fast are they? I know that they are supposed to be pretty fast with some modifications but how fast are they stock?



My truck is down right now getting Fire-ringed, studded, cam, valve springs and injection lines. Besides that I dont have a plate and my wastegate is plugged up so I'm getting around 45#'s of boost. Also I have 3. 55 gearing. BHAF and straight exhaust to the stack. Timing at 15. 5*.



Do I have a chance? I have spanked lots of Fords but never yet a Max.

I think that you should be able to. I have an 01 auto regular cab stock with a TST Comp box set on 3 and 33 in tires. My cousin has a 04 4 door duramax stock and just last night we both pulled out of a light which he was in front. I seen him kick it down so i had to also, but he never did pull away i stayed right with him

Speed to me is nice but I am more concerned I think with what a diesel can do pulling a sled. These trucks are made to tow/pull heavy loads and not necessarily go fast (Although they are pretty quick after modifying) . So drag racing my truck doesnt really prove anything to me. But I dont like this kid either so it would be nice to put him in his place may be on both terms. 1. Drag racing 2. Sled pulling.
