Cany anyone recommend a lightweight rack for carrying ladders, canoes and stuff up to say 100lbs?
I was thinking of something simple that drops in the stake pockets. It would be nice if it was two pieces instead of one piece.
I might even fabricate it if necessary.
Thanks.

I built my stock rack out of 2x4s. Quick and dirty for hauling livestock and firewood. With a little more time and some paint you could make something nice with 2x4 stakes and 1x4 rails.

advertises a rack that is relatively light weight, but it seems to be more heavy-duty than what you are looking for. But check it out, you might like it... and you could carry more than just one canoe easily.

They have several types; the "Mirage" may be just your ticket - advertises "removable" and light weight

Had quite a few racks in my life... ... . So, here's my $0. 02.
Don't get a wimpy one. You may be thinking ladders and canoes, but someday you'll want to haul some 20 foot 2X6s and the light duty one won't help. Plus, a rack is a great help to stabilize the occaisional one-time big items you haul, like an upright freezer or whatever. #ad

Only drawback is, will it still fit in the garage! Happy hunting!

I'm sorry let me clarify; the mud flars are for my blind wife. They really save on cleanup. The barn waters down all the streets daily,I think she follows the water truck.
