Ok, so I have an Edge Comp and am getting my FASS and transmission soon and was wondering about the RAD. I don't know a thing about it but I do want to have some hard launches and from what I understand, the truck won't let me do it all that well do to defueling in 1st and 2nd gear. I don't even know what "defueling" really is but I want to get this figured out.

Can someone please explain what this is all about and explain the down sides to the RAD?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Sorry to ask what is RAD???

To answer your question on the defueling. It is when the FPCM get a signal from (ECM and or PCM ) ???The FPCM is in the VP-44 it signals the metering control valve to open providing an alternative path for the fuel it bleeds off the high pressure fuel earlier in the cycle and allows the injector to close putting less fuel into each cylinder. It also has the ability to vary the amount of fuel going into each cylinder. For I have had this problem since new and have had to study up on this in order to understand this what is going on for I still lose 20 % when travling down the highway. How is that for poorer mileage. How does a 11,400 lb 1 ton get 30 MPG without defueling. ???????? gutless bloody wonder.

RAD is racers anti defueler. It keeps the ecm from defueling in first and second gears. I'm pretty sure it is for automatics only. I dont think the manuals have this problem but either way you can try bd-power.com they should be able to tell you more about it and they also sell them

If you are defueling you are probably making pretty good power and in order to get full use of the RAD you will need to get billet input and ouput shafts as well.
