Argh... can't find my back issues, but there was something about radiator flush/maintenance as to not cause cavitation? piston problems?

... can anyone shoot me the info?

Thanks!

Can't vouch for the TDR back issue, but it sounds like you are referring to something called cavitational erosion. This is only a problem for engines that have cylinder sleeves and the coolant is routed around the sleeves. Air bubbles form in the coolant and get between the sleeve and cylinder wall, which eventually pits/erodes the sleeve. Cummins makes a coolant additive to prevent this from happening. However, our 5. 9L's do not have sleeves, so this isn't a concern us.
