the 91.5 W250 I recently bought is soon to need a radiator. It has a hecho in mexico Valeo radiator in it now which apparently replaced the original at some time past. It is still an all metal radiator however I can see it has a small leak near the tank on the top drivers side that will steam very little occasionally and I can see the dampness in the fins although it doesn't leave that spot or drip on the floor.
The problem I'm having is that all the parts stores show and all metal radiator option but can seem to get their hands on them or even order one. They are all to happy to want to sell me one with plastic tanks which I am reluctant to do.
Does anyone know of a source that actually has what I'm looking for? Should I just get the plastic tank one? My last effort may be to try and have the one in the truck re cored

Have you considered an aluminum one ?

I have but wasn't sure how they performed and the 600 dollar price tag slapped me in the face. If it comes down to it I will certainly do that option I was just trying to stay reasonable priced and stock without stepping back and going cheap on quality. I'm told the valeo that's in it is pretty good and probably worth having re-cored I just know nothing about that yet

Any good Radaitor shop can get one or build one for you
The parts places are not the best option .
Contact this place Macs Radaitor 503-777-4706 in Portland ,Or they build customs or sell stock and ship any to any place

There is an aluminum one I see mentioned in some of the Facebook sites that many seem to like, price was reasonable as well... miyamora or something like that ? See if I can find it later.

I'm generally not a cheerleader when it comes to the aftermarket parts bin but Spectra makes a great radiator. They are Canadian built. I had one in my 98 for many years, still looked and performed as good as new the day I sold it. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. Going by memory I think I got mine through my local Napa.

I'll second the Spectra. Get them cheap from Rock Auto. I'm running one in my truck and I've put two of them in cars that I no longer own.

It seems like the spectra's and murrys are made by the same supplier for different parts houses. Rock Auto is out of stock on all the intercooled radiators and all the parts stores show they carry the all metal types but when it comes down to ordering one I got the same answer from all of them that they cant seem to even order one now for some reason.

I have someone that has one out of a 92 that he knows is good I'm probably going to buy and install for the time being and then try to get my current one re-cored as a spare

Call a local radaitor shop , they can get stuff a parts store cant or they can build you a radaitor no joke ,if you like pm i can get one for it if need be

I appreciate the offer of help. If I cant find a suitable replacement or if the guy from the Cummins forum with the 92 radiator doesn't come thru I will certainly
P.M. you soon

Looks like autozone came thru as NIsaacs said. I ordered a spectra thru their online site and should have it Friday. Now to get a case of fleetgaurd coolant to get the job done right

SorrytoJump in here so late. I would update the Rad to the 92-93 style that was larger and was mounted on rubber vabration mounts. There was an article back in the TDR back around 1993 that showed how to do it. I did it on my 89 after cracking 3 rads . The mount flange would crack off the tanks every time. It was by far the best update I ever did to that truck.

The OP has a '91.5 so it should be the crossflow type.

Just thought I would update the thread. I did return the AutoZone radiator because it arrived with a non standard filler neck and cap size and decided on an aluminum one. I got the deal of the year I suppose because I picked up a Mishimoto from amazon deals that was labeled as used with at least 10% blemishes or markings on the sides and or top for $389 shipped.

I inquired with them once I ordered it to see if it was a factory 2nd which I had never heard or if it was indeed actually used. They said it was a returned item so it was being sold thru their amazon deals warehouse and that if I wasn't happy I had 30 days to return it.

I figured I didn't have much to loose so after a 7 day wait for it to process and ship I received it and much to my surprise what I got is a unused, new in its sealed Mishimoto bag radiator that only the outer box was opened on. I guess someone ordered it and it wasn't going to work for them so they returned it and it had to be sold as used?
