Is there any tricks tips etc to doing this.

I'm removing the old radiator and putting in one out of an intercooled truck.

Thanks, KO

If it is like my nonIC 91, the lower mounts are the same. You can either fab up some brackets to go out (toward the engine) from the core support to the raditor upper mounts, or you can take the brackets from your old radiator and have them put on your new radiator. Did you get a t-stat housing? You will need one if you didnt.

Oh boy, and I had one, too. Anyway, you will notice your nonIC t-stat housing turns and faces the front right of the radiator. Look at your new radiator- you will see the upper outlet on the LEFT side. The newer 12v housing turns an additional 90deg and faces parallel to the radiator, to take a hose that comes at a ~90 from the upper radiator hose (after making a slight outward loop to go around the oil filler).

ANYONE have a pic of the radiator hose arrangement on a 91. 5+?

Bummer, I saw you had one but didn't know why I would need one.

I know now LOL. How hard are they to find?

Radiator Conversion

Kiohio,

Send me your email address in a PM and I will email you a copy of the conversion that was written up in the TDR many years ago. I did the conversion about six or seven years ago. I will reply but it may take a day or so.

Good Luck

Dan

The Cummins p/n for the t-stat housing for the 91. 5 CAC engine is 3920353. The bolts and stat are the same. Shadrach

This probably won't help, but here is a pic with the 91. 5+ thermostat housing. It's just to the right of the alternator. [/IMG]#ad
