2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Radiator support / Intercooler mount

I got a new lower radiator support and the threaded inset for the intercooler mounts are not included. can i get the old ones out or should i just pop in some threaed inserts? the hole in the support is shaped like a nut so i would have to drill them round first. I would rather stay "factory"

That sucks! The support should come with something like that. Is there any access to the backside at all?

I had a similar problem once, and welded a square weld-nut to a 2-inch piece of 3/16" flat stock, drilled a hole on either side of the hole where it needed to go, slid the piece into the end of the tubing/hollow cavity and fished it into place and held it with a bolt, then spot-welded the flat stock in place using my drilled holes. A pita, but it worked well.

no access I beieve it is an expandable anchor... problem is it does not show inthe parts diagram...
