I was at a pickem up truck store in santa rosa having a locking tail gate installed. My radio worked when i got there and when i left it did'nt.

The kid putting the locking solenoid in the truck did'nt get to the wiring part that I know of. Because they took 2 hours longer than they said and i had to leave before they were done installing the lock.

When i got in my truck the radio has lost all power and the cab lights now longer work.

All the fuses on the side of the dash are ok.

What is the relevancy between the radio and the cab lights.

And what to look for to find out why I have no power to my radio.

They said they would look into it Wednesday to see what happened but I'm not sure i want this place touching my truck anymore.

Thanks in advance.

They both require constant power. Bet you have a fuse at the main power distribution box blow. It's under the hood by the battery.

I checked all the fuses and still nothing. Has anyone else got an idea??

I am checking it out again wed when i go back to the store to get the tailgate lock finished.

Check the fuse panel on the left side of the dash by the door. There is a fuse that has a cover on it. The label for that fuse has three initials. The cover flips off to the side and the fuse is exposed. It is a 15 amp fuse if I remember correctly. I discovered what that fuse did quite by accident.

You may be looking for a burned out fuseable link at the battery. They neck down the constant power wires from the battery for the first few inches so if something goes wrong they burn in half there rather than frying the whole loom. There should be a few of them there from the positove terminal of the driver's side battery. I know one of them goes to the grid heaters but it may be one of the others. Hope this helps.

SWC Wins a cigar. It is fuse #12 a 10 amp fuse and it is one of the locked fuses.

I unlocked it and found it popped.

SWC your a real champ. Thanks for keeping an eye on the board and giving a good ol boy a hand.
