I have the plain Jane 1 cd radio with four speakers and no steering wheel mounted controls.

Has anyone replaced this with a nice sounding system with XM and nicer speakers without doing major demo work? :--)

Alpine makes a nice integrated system. You can get XM, CD, and AM/FM all in one head unit. The stock speakers are easy and pretty cheap to replace. I also used one of the back underseat storage areas for a subwoofer and amp. It's a great system and I still have some storage in the back. I couldn't paste a link but if you go to www.alpine.com and look for this model, that's what I got.

Pioneer

I use to have a pretty much total system of pioneer. Back a couple months ago I sold the truck and everything went with it. I spent the money at the time and went ahead and got the MP3 but never got a XM set up on it. I had a 300 pushin the pioneers that took place of my stock speakers. Then I had 300 pushin the one 10" pioner, it wasn't just pioneer I can't remember what letters was with it. the amps were SPL. I also had a set of tweeters. I didn't get this system for Rap, but when I wanted to hit hard, I made people think there was a whole lot more then just a 10 in there. You couldn't here it out side of the truck, and I wasnt to worried about that. The quality was very nice. If I had to do it again, I would look in to some differnt names but if you plan on spending money I would try to get MP3 if anything. its always nice to fit 170 songs on a cd. Do want you want, but tthe more you spend the better you get. "Most of the time" compare... ...
