2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Radio Died

My Dodge Infinity radio quit making sound!



Anyone else have this happen?



I have power, can change tracks on the CD, tape and stations on the tuner.

I have a 99 same thing happened. Took it to the stealer they wanted $800. 00 "yea right" So I took it to a friend of mine works at a stereo shop,he popped off the dash cover,very easy to do just snaps on,I hope yours is the same. Anyway couple of screws and he pulled the stereo out a wire was shorting out he put some tape on it and no more problems. This happened twice first time the dealer did it under warranty. They must have just moved the wire. There isnt many wires on the back of the stereo so don,t worry it will be easy to find just turn on the radio and wiggle the wires until you find the right one.

With the Infinity system it might not be the radio... . Sounds like the amp isn't on. I would bet that the remote turn-on is not getting power. As said above, pull the radio and check the wiring.
