Just for info: I have had trouble with my left speakers, both front and rear being intermittent to totally gone for some time now. After much research and pulling the radio, to make sure the radio was ok, then the left door panel. The problem turned out to be a bad speaker amp mounted to the speaker. This amp supplies amplified sound to the left side. Just as a test I rewired the speakers by bypassing the amp and feeding the radio to the speakers without the amp. They worked very well and that is now my configuration. I lost just a small portion of frequency response but not enough to be a bother, for me,. I checked with the dodge house and they wanted $208 for a new speaker/amp combo. That is the only way it comes. I googled the speaker and the best price I came up with was $199. 20. I am going to run mine this way until something else happens and probably get a whole new radio system for not to much more than one speaker assy would cost. This was my experience anyway. - Dean

Hi Dean--I'm having trouble with my right side speakers. I'm not much of a radio guy--what does the amp look like and how do I rewire it?

Thanks!

Paul

Paul - The amp is built right onto the front door speaker and it looks like a half moon with all the wires going to it. As far as wiring around the amp you need to use the wiring diagram in the chassis manual, or CD version, to find the colors for the different speakers. I AM ASSUMING YOU HAVE THE INFINITY SPEAKER/AMP SYSTEM. If you don't have that system you may not have the amp mounted on the speaker. Some of the other radios didn't have an extra amp and the speakers were driven by the radio amp itself. Check it out and see what you have. - Dean
P. S. My brother has a 97 and ended up having to get a new radio. His Speakers were good.
