My radio locked up yesterday while trying to text from Android Auto. I thought, well I'll just stop and pull the radio fuse because I don't have time to wait for it to go to sleep. So first I can't find the fuse in the fuse box. Then I remember that my 2014 had the radio fuse in the harness about where the master cylinder lives. No fuse there. Pull out the tablet and look in TechConnect at the wiring diagram, sure enough it shows the location by the MC. Then a quick Google search brings up this post.

Sure enough, there it is over by the coolant bottle. OK, easy enough, pop the fuse in and out, hop in to get back on the road, no Sirius button, HVAC shows single zone with two temperatures, Lo and Hi. No way to change HVAC settings, only a couple of APP's showing, go to settings and hardly anything there. It was nice out so I finished my trip with the windows down and listening to FM. I got home and we ate dinner. Hopped back in the truck to run out and everything is back except for my presets. I have pulled the radio fuse on my wife's 8.4 without any trouble. It appears the radio needs to reload the configuration after a reset and according to the service procedure it takes two sleep cycles. I wondered if it might be because of the Security Gateway Module. Anyway I learned something new today.
