going to remove radio tomorrow, anyone out there know how the dash panel comes out. don't want to break anything and i'm still waiting for my shop manual. mike
There is one screw near the bag hook. Open ash tray and cup holder. Pry the center bezel away from the dash. Reach in behind and remove any plugs to switches etc. The radio is held into the IP with three mounting screws. That should do it. The book recommends disconnecting both battery grounds.
Great link! I might replace the stereo and speakers in mine. Have you sized up the door speakers yet? It also looks like an easy place to install the gauges in the cubby hole...
This info may come in handy. I just picked up my '03 today and not more than 30 mins later the radio stopped working. It's like it heats up and then shuts off. If I leave it off for a while it'll come on again but then shut off a few minutes later. I'll have to call the dealer tomorrow. Not a great way to start out ownership.
