My original Dodge radio failed this spring while on a trip. I replaced it with an Eclipse radio.

However... ..... with both radios all of the left side (drivers) speakers are intermittent. If the volume is turned way up for a second the speakers sometimes come on and stay on until the truck is turned off but not always. .

What is wrong??????????? Solution???

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you have either a bad wire connection or an intermittant short. Check the wire at the speaker and if the connection is good, follow the wire back towards the radio, looking for breaks in the insulation where it could short to the body of the truck (think door hinges and places where the wire has to move frequently). Maybe someone else has knowledge of a particular place to look, but that is all I can tell you.

Just pull it hard. It uses some common type of trim rivet thing-a-ma-gig. Once you pull them them out, you can go to NAPA or Autozone and get more for a lot less than the dealer. I was able to reuse mine.

The "thing-a-ma-jigs" in the door panels are called christmas tree fasteners and NAPA or any auto parts store sells them along with the tool for removing them from the door so you do not break them. Easy to remove with the right tool. Keeps you from pulling them through the door panel and breaking it.

I had a similar problem turned out to be the window caught the speaker wire and had pulled it just enough so it was barely making contact with the speaker.
