The radio speakers on the left (drivers) side of my truck are intermittent. The problem is not related to the radio as I replaced it this spring and the problem persists. When the left side is not working I can turn up the volume quite high and the left speakers will usually come on. Then I can turn the volume down again and they will stay on.

What could the problem be???? Oo.

infinity?

is it a infinity stereo system? if so i know from doing a little research on the web that the infinity stereo has amps on the speakers. it seems like a pretty complex set up. search the forums and you might find something that will help you... . good luck... .

More than likely just a blown speaker. An intermittent voice coil inside will cause this problem, I've seen it several times over the years exactly like you stated, turn it up and it works, down and it will go off or stay on either way. I installed factory replacement speaker in my non-infinity '99 about a month ago, easy swap, $38 from Dodge. Aftermarket ones will sound like poo with the factory radio, they're designed for much more power and are not effecient with the lower power outputs of factory radios.
